j.crew schooling

Walking by J.Crew a few days ago, I was mesmerized by the bright reds filling the windows. But, after stopping to take a peek, I found more than J.Crew's usual bright, preppy colors. I discovered their cute and easy tips for spring. Rather than just dressing mannequins in the latest fashions, they spelled out their tips so that their advice could not be ignored. Remember this advice each morning as you choose your fresh, spring outfits.

'live colorfully'

Just a few years ago, I had barely even heard of Kate Spade. Now, her colors and prints are all I see-- no complaints. I love the preppy dresses, the colorful totes, and even the iPhone cases in this ever-growing Kate Spade world. More importantly, I love the quirky edge that the brand promotes. The 'play hooky' iPad sleeve and even the 'big secrets' note pad are so fun. Branching out even further from the cute humor and preppy clothing, Kate Spade has now dubbed mega stylist, Brad Goreski, as their "executive brand stylist". So, essentially, Kate Spade has taken over, and I kind of love it.

nordies fun

Last weekend, I attended a trend show at Nordstrom. I saw all the new trends for spring in makeup and clothes. Neon pants, printed maxi dresses, and bright lips. Afterwards, I got my makeup done and went shopping, of course! My favorite purchase of the day were my fabulous chestnut and beet Cole Haan oxfords. I already have to stop myself from wearing them every day because they are just so comfortable and cute. In the beauty department, Laura Mercier really helped me out, giving me a nice, natural look. I bought the tinted moisturizer, and I seriously do not regret the decision. It is easy and lightweight-- so perfect for the spring heat.

I obviously did some more shopping after the trend show. It was necessary to make my way upstairs to check out all the gorgeous spring clothes.  I am absolutely obsessing this pink lace Robert Rodriguez top. I just can't seem to fall out of love with lace. And, this Elizabeth and James stripped dress is perfection.

matthew williamson

Since I can't shop every day, I often find myself window shopping online. I rarely buy anything because the sizing scares me. But, I do love browsing. Today, I fell in love with Matthew Williamson's Fall 2012 RTW collection. It showcased his usual bright colors and prints; however, it was a much more structured, streamlined collection with some darker tones as well. My favorite dress is the sequined gray beauty with organza t-shirt layered on top which alluded to the space age inspiration. Dying.

back to windows

Sorry for the hiatus-- way too much schoolwork. Now, on this very necessary long weekend, I get to return to blogging.

So, I have recently developed a love for Diane von Furstenberg. I have no idea why it has taken me so long to appreciate her beautiful, bright colors that make her clothes so effortless and fresh. While window shopping a few weeks ago, I fell in love with this dress at Saks. The print is so fun, and the colors are the definition of spring. Kelly green and cobalt blue-- love. After seeing this dress, I did some online "window" shopping and fell in love with many other DVF dresses, including some cover ups that I'm dying to wear to the beach. Take a peek below.

accessory love

On my window shopping extravaganza, I fell in love with Stella, Jimmy, Giuseppe, and even Nancy at Saks Fifth Avenue. All the accessories popped perfectly out of the windows. But, my favorite is obvious. The Stella McCartney snake-print bag is absolutely stunning, and the bright yellow makes it a spring must have. I so wish I had my own Stella. Although the Stella bag is without a doubt my favorite, the other accessories are beautiful as well. The Jimmy Choo suede and patent platforms are gorgeous and a fun neutral. In the next window, the Nancy Gonzalez crocodile tote and the Giuseppe Zanotti platform sandals stunned in fabulous blue hues. The platforms are especially sick. I already see myself strutting around South Beach in those. Love.

Thanks again to my fabulous sister for snapping all  these pictures!

finally, some window shopping

This weekend I finally had the chance to window shop although I obviously had to make a few purchases. How could I resist? The spring colors are just too alluring. However, my favorite window of the day showcased floral prints, not bright colors. Nordstrom's window managed me to make me fall in love with floral pants while also making me laugh. The sign in the window reads, "He said, 'Will you text me later?' She said, 'I would, but I might chip a nail.'" The bustier top is definitely one of my new favorite tops, and I will definitely sport the chambray shirt and floral skirt at school very soon. And, the pretty floral dress is so sweet. Looks like I need to make another trip to Nordstrom.

Check out the photos below taken by my lovely sister.
